A Shitty Feeling

One thing I'm having a problem dealing with is the lack of enthusiasm that my peers, family, or anyone show in my interests. Now, nearly all of my friends have similar hobbies to me, but that isn't the problem.  Other than a few certain things, like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, or whatever, I cannot very easily talk to my friends about any of my interests or ambitions. Its even worse with my family.

Sometimes, on the off chance that one of my friends actually listens to an album i recommend, or reads something i recommend, they shortly dismiss it as shit and go back to their very close minded generic shit that they listen to or read. I ask you, am I that much superior to my peers, or do I am I the one who has to change? I really do not like shutting myself away. I like talking about the things I like. Its very, very frustrating when no one seems to care. I hate keeping it to myself. What would you guys suggest I do to help this troubling circumstance?  Also, have some pictures of Reimu.
This one is especially, I think.

I love the strong look of determination in her eyes.

Badass
Glasses are a great look on her. Don't you think?

Well, since I cannot top Megane-Reimu, I'll stop right here.

  1. I can't help you that much as I have already shut myself off. /jp/ and blogger are the only real places I can talk about my interests with other people.

A couple of the /jp/ bloggers hang out in the IRC channel #/jp/blog on Rizon but we like to idle a lot.

  2. I may make my way onto that channel, but I'm not even sure if you guys would satiate my need to discuss interests, since they do not entirely consister of Otaku and /jp/ topics... Thank you though, I think i will go to that IRC now.

  3. I Ken-Sama have an answer you seek. Do not try to think of yourself as superior to your peers. Try to think of yourself as an individual. My sensei once said that the when the moon tries to talk to the sun it gets ignored due to the suns glowing radiance. But, when the sun shines with the moon and work together they both shine brightly and create a beauty. Do not put yourself above when you can work together to create something with everyone

  4. Just be less pretentious so people aren't afraid to voice their opinions around you. Done.

  5. Ken and Chad both offer me great advice, but I am afraid that I would take that too far and not be able to share my interests anyway... I have lots of stuff to think about I suppose.

  8. Nerds are closed-minded because EVERYTHING I KNOW IS CORRECT AND YOU'VE BEEN DOING IT WRONG YOUR WHOLE LIFE AND I'VE HEARD OF THAT/THEM BEFORE YOU, THAT/THEY SUCK(S), HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TO/PLAYING/WATCHING/JERKING OFF TO. It's our curse.
